The River Runners Canoe Club was founded in 2000 and
incorporated in 2001. It is a non-profit organization devoted to grouping people
of similar interest to actively participate in the sport of canoeing and
kayaking. It serves as a rallying body for its members by encouraging them to
join in group outings, thereby allowing them to practice the sport in a safe and
secure environment.
The Club also serves as a beacon to newcomers
who wish to learn the techniques of canoeing by
providing a variety of courses given by
certified instructors.
It is a family oriented group that
discourages the consumption of alcoholic
beverages during canoe outings. The club
strongly promotes the wisdom of cleaning up the
environment we live in by participating in river
and walking trail clean ups.
The club presently owns 12 Old Town
canoes complete with paddles, personal floatation
devices (PFD) and other various accessories. These club assets are available to
our members for their use.
